The British Theatre Academy is the growing standard in accessible theatre training and performance opportunities for young people in the UK. For almost 30 years*, The BTA has offered performers under the age of 23 the opportunity to develop skills, craft and experience in order to build character, confidence and work under professional conditions in the theatre industry in an elite capacity and locally in our communities.

Our mission is to ensure that young people have accessibility to professional training regardless of socioeconomic background, and our members benefit from working with top West End, Broadway and International professionals both as teacher in weekly classes, and as part of a creative team in our professional shows.

What makes British Theatre Academy unique is that we combine weekly training classes in all theatrical disciplines alongside our performing opportunities, offering a unique and complete training package to deliver the skills and experience required to build a career in the arts.

Our ethos of Hard Work, Discipline and Dedication shines through our family of Alumni, who represent the Academy in the industry sharing their skills, confidence and passion in their professional careers.

Membership with The British Academy entitles our members to access to our weekly workshops, working with industry professionals to build skills and preparation for shows, and the opportunity to perform as part of our Professionally prepared Shows, in regional communities, internationally renowned theatres and on the West End.
